Do you need Wi-Fi 7 on the road?
The newest travel routers bring Wi-Fi 7 to a pocket-sized box. The main gains are faster VPN speeds from newer processors and quicker links to Wi-Fi 7 laptops and phones.
Check the power needs (some want 20 W or more over USB-C) and the ports: a 2.5 Gbps port helps when a hotel room or office has fast wired internet.

Frequently asked questions
Is a Wi-Fi 7 travel router worth it?
If your laptop and phone support Wi-Fi 7, you get faster local transfers and steadier connections. The hotel's connection is usually the limit for the internet itself.
Do Wi-Fi 7 travel routers support VPN?
Most do, with WireGuard and OpenVPN, and their faster processors run the VPN quicker than older travel routers.
How are they powered?
Usually USB-C. Check the wattage: Wi-Fi 7 models can need more power than a phone charger gives.
