About RouterMag
Last updated October 16, 2026
RouterMag is a router comparison site. We collect the specifications of Wi-Fi routers, mesh systems, gaming routers and travel routers into one consistent format, so you can line up any two to five models and see exactly where they differ.
Why we built it
Router spec sheets are hard to compare. One brand lists “BE9300”, another lists a coverage area for a three-pack, a third hides the port speeds in a PDF. We read those sources and turn them into one spec sheet per model, with the same rows in the same order for every router.
Where the specs come from
- Manufacturer documentation first. Product pages, datasheets, user guides and compliance documents from the brand itself.
- Structured product data (Open Icecat) for identifiers such as model numbers and GTINs.
- Retail listings only to confirm details a manufacturer leaves out, and never for ratings or review text.
Every value in our database records which source it came from. When sources disagree, the manufacturer wins. When a spec isn’t published, we leave it blank rather than guess.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell rankings or placements. Brands can’t pay to be listed, featured or compared favorably.
- We don’t publish other sites’ scores or copy their reviews.
- We don’t show product prices, because they change hourly and a static page would be out of date. Budget pages and the price filter only sort routers into rough ranges. The “Check current price” button opens the product’s store page, where the price is live.
